When she walks she’s like a samba that
Swings so cool and sways so gently
That when she passes
Each one she passes goes “ah!”
Astrud Gilberto — Girl from Ipanema
I bought some new pens! To be precise they’re color pencils which are water-soluble, so you can get an aquarelle effect. Usually I only do sketches with a variety of pens, and so this is more or less the first “painting” I did since school time — but actually it’s still more a drawing than a painting.
The picture is implicitly inspired by “Girl from Ipanema“. I started to learn that song on the guitar recently, and it’s such a lovely song. It is so relaxing despite being so melancholic.
PS: I don’t have a scanner yet, so please excuse the bad quality (which is mostly a result of bad light) of the pictures!
Maybe you wonder what the title of this post has to do with the post. To be honest, the above picture is not quite the “first” painting I did with these pencils. To try them out, I scribbled something rather abstract with them, and I gave it that title. The first person who contacts me and dares to give me his/her address, will get it as a postcard ;)
